Campgrounds

Ames will be providing two official campgrounds for the RAGBRAI riders.
MapISU West Campgrounds:
This will be the main campground for Ames. Located near the ISU Cross Country Course and Wallace Residence Hall, this campground will provide tent camping options only. Parking is available adjacent to this campground.
MapISU East Campgrounds:
This campground area will have space for both RV and tent camping. Hard surface parking will also be available at this camping area.
Campground Services:
Showers, restrooms, and water will be available at both locations.
Large Groups:
If you are a group that would like to
make special campground arrangements, please contact

size and needs.
Renegade Campground
Located within walking distance of the CYcling Country Festival, the Renegade Campground is situated just north of the ISU East Campground and one block east on South 4th Street. Buses and RVs are welcome to park and camp in this wooded, shady spot.
Camping in the Renegade Campground is $10 per car and $30 per RV.
The following services will be available at the Renegade Campground:
- 24 hour staffing
- Drive-in camping
- Porta pots
- On site food/beverage vendors
