The Ames Morning Rotary and the Ames Afternoon Rotary Clubs are gearing up for CYcling Country as they prepare to host an event at Iowa State University's Reiman Gardens. On Tuesday, July 22, as thousands of RAGBRAI riders roll into Ames, Reiman Gardens will provide a cool and relaxing escape for all to enjoy.
Reiman Gardens is open to all from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. All registered RAGBRAI riders will receive $2 off the admission price as will Rotarty members who wear their pin. Admission includes access to all gardens and the Butterfly Wing, which is filled with hundreds of live, exotic butterflies from around the world.
Throughout the day, there will be live music, hot jazz, cold air-conditioned rooms, cool butterflies and all the flowers that grow outside in the 14 beautifully landscaped acres. Five local restaurants will be featured from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with specialties from Hickory Park, The Spice Thai Cuisine, Fuji Japanese Steakhouse, Cottage on Broad, and Cafe Shi.
Reiman Gardens adjoins the south end of Jack Trice Stadium on University Boulevard. Rotary members can get meeting credit with their admission from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
